Hey there cutes, put on your dancin' boots And come dance with me Come dance with me, what an evenin' for some Terpsichore Pretty face, I know a swingin' place Come on, dance with me Romance with me on a crowded floor And while the rhythm swings What lovely things I'll be sayin' 'Cause what is dancin' but makin' love Set to music...playin' When the band begins to leave the stand And folks start to roam As we waltz home, cheek to cheek we'll be Come on, come on, come on Come on and dance with me Hey there cutes, put on your Basie boots And come dance with me Come dance with me, what an evenin' for some Terpsichore Pretty face, I know a swingin' place Come on, dance with me Romance with me on a crowded floor And while the rhythm swings What cuckoo things I'll be sayin' 'Cause what is dancin' but makin' love Set to music...playin' When the band begins to leave the stand And folks start to roam As we wing home, cheek to cheek we'll be Come on, come on, come on Come on, come on, come on Come on and dance with me

Bahia 04:01
We'll take a flight to Bahia Coastal town that I adore Everything's right in Bahia Bathe in the sun at Salvador Coconut trees Sand and the breeze On our island holiday We'll go and see Folks waterski Maybe get around to it someday If we ever leave our hideaway We'll take a boat in Bahia Explore the reef and see the sights We'll stay afloat in Bahia Sunny days fiesta nights Pineapples grow Waterfalls flow Rocky plateau desert sands We'll go explore 'Way from the shore Orchids in the tropic canopy Peeping through the branches of the trees And wandering in Bahia We hear the tunes of Tom and Joao The song they sing in Bahia To celebrate the here and now Long lazy days out by the bay Easy walking by the shore Hot city nights Full of delights ‘specially when we dance O Cantador…

about

This is my very first recording and I’m delighted that you’ve either helped fund it or decided to purchase a copy. I wanted to create something that would celebrate the fabulous women of jazz throughout the decades and in particular those who both sang and played piano, and this is my attempt to emulate and capture their performance and arranging skills. My own path to this point has not been conventional - through engineering and teaching and being the product of an incredibly musical family, I’ve created music in just about every genre there is, but I’ve always returned to my real love - jazz and the beauty of improvisation. I’ve taken time to get here and I truly hope you’ll enjoy this record of my arrangements, playing and singing. My special thanks to three truly dedicated musicians, Pat Sprakes, Paul Jefferies and Steve Smith for helping me realise this dream.
